Herman C Tellis was born on March 19, 1938, to the parents of Herman Tellis and Beatrice Clowers. Both preceded him in death. Herman was the second oldest of four brothers and five sisters.
A Time to be Born
Deacon Tellis was a native of Chattanooga, TN where he attended public school. He entered the Navy at an early age. He fostered an interest in the electrical trade. Later on becoming a member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 38.
Marriage
Deacon Tellis was joined in holy matrimony to Barbara McKinney on June 30, 1978. From this union, he became a father to Kevin McKinney, and later, Donte Tellis arrived. Herman had a loving and caring heart and welcomed everyone.
Herman worked for numerous companies doing electrical work. He was a master electrician and retired from the field after 50 years.
Herman spent his time with family and going to different functions.
Herman was a man with personality known for his loving and caring nature.
Deacon Tellis is preceded in death by his brothers, Nathaniel Tellis, Oliver Tellis, and Milton Clowers, as well as four sisters, Jaquetta Norris, Mittie Tellis, Viola Wynes, and Gloria Ann Allen. He is also preceded in death by his children Rayshawn Tellis, Angela Cameron, and Kim Tellis.
Herman leaves to cherish his wife Barbara Tellis, sons, Kevin McKinney (Kim) and Donte’ “Shaun” Tellis. From a previous marriage he leaves, Herman Charles Tellis (Jane), Samuel Tellis (Lxchel), Tim Tellis, and Jeanora Tellis.
He is survived by one brother James Tellis (Glennie), one sister Mary L. Douglas, twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
