Hubert (Hube/Pops) Leon Parks Sr. was born on December 10, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the eighth and youngest child of Arthur T. Parks Sr. and Irene Alice Perrymond Parks. At an early age, Hubert accepted Christ, beginning a lifelong journey of faith.
Hube graduated from East Technical High School, Class of 1972. He went on to become a Crane Operator at USS/Kobe, where he dedicated many years of service. In his spare time, he also drove for the Yellow Cab Company. After a long and hardworking career, he retired from the steel mill.
In June of 1981, Hube married Alberta M. Harvey, lovingly known as Peaches. Their union was blessed with two children, Hubert Jr. and Shayna. Hube was a devoted family man, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of cooking, passion for music, and joy in spending time with family. He was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching any and every game.
On April 26, 2025, Hube peacefully departed this life, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alberta Parks; his parents, Irene, and Arthur T. Parks Sr.; and his brothers, Arthur T. Parks Jr., Roy L. Parks Sr., and David C. Parks.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Hubert Parks Jr.; daughter, Shayna Parks; and grandchildren, Byron Jr., Braylon, and Shayaa Divine. He is also survived by his sister, Emma J. Richards; brothers, Eddie Parks Sr., Robert Parks Sr., and James Parks Sr. (Betty); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
