Jacqueline Dorne Young, fondly known as Jacci, was the daughter of loving parents, Roy H. and Barbara J. Young. She was born on July 9, 1956 in Akron, Ohio.
Jacci accepted Christ at an early age. She connected with St. Thomas Baptist Church, Pastor Thomas H. Bell and The House of Prayer for All People, under the leadership of Bishop Robert D. Bell. She was a dedicated church member and loved singing for the Lord. Throughout the years, she sang with many church choirs, ensembles and groups.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School for elementary and middle school. Jacci earned her high school diploma in 1975 from Copley Sr. High School. Jacci studied Early Childhood Education at The University of Akron. She loved working with younger children to help them meet their potential. In her spare time, she volunteered at the Mothers and Others Organization and the Girl Scouts of America.
Jacci will always be remembered for having such a BIG heart and helping anyone in need. She would give a person the shirt off her back if she felt they needed it more than she did. She never met a stranger and always had a joke or a kind word to share. It was evident that Jacci loved people and pets. Most importantly, Jacci loved the Lord.
Jacci’s dedication to her family was always felt. She was always there to share her joy and love. She also leaves a void that can never be filled.
Jacci is survived by her loving parents, Roy and Barbara Young; dedicated sister, Roytunda (Darrell) Stabler; darling daughter, Shalethia Taylor; dearest grandson, LaTrell Taylor; special niece, Briahna Stabler; dear friend, Brenda Mahone; beloved pets, Martin, Toby and Remi; a host of cousins, aunts, many other loved ones and friends.
