James E. Pryor was born the second son of Elijah and Fannie Pryor on December 14, 1928, in Huntsville, Alabama. Leroy Pryor preceded him in death.
James served in the Army during the Korean War where he received the Service Star of Honor.
He attended Alabama A&M. After which he headed north and landed in Cleveland, Ohio. He had many different jobs before being hired at the Post Office. There he met and married Helen Hunt. Four children were the results of this union, Arland, Terrence (preceded him in death), Beverly and Marc. After the Post Office, James was employed by the Cleveland Board of Education where he worked as a Truant officer and Substitute Teacher. He also earned his Realtors License and worked for Century 21.
James’s greatest passion was caring for his immediate, extended and anyone else he considered family, which was demonstrated when he moved and cared for his mother Fannie until her death at the age of 110 years old.
Nephews and nieces all referred to him as “Uncle Jimmy”.
Later in life after joining Morning Star Baptist Church, he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Adult Usher Board. He also became a Mason and belong to Lodge #79.
At the age of 93, God called James from his earthly home to his eternal home in Heaven.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, Helen, two sons, Arland and Marc Sr. (Elann), daughter Beverly.
Grandchildren, Terrence Jr., Rasheedah, Marel, Marc Jr, great-grands, Jordan, Noah, Natalieh, Walter V, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
