Janice Marsh was born on March 24, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio. Janice was the fourth child born to Mary Ashford. Janice was raised in Cleveland with her twelve brothers and sisters. In 1979, Janice enlisted in the Army National Guard where she met and married Anthony Brown. Shortly after, in 1981 Janice enlisted in the United States Air Force where her and husband moved to Ogden, Utah where she was stationed, there she gave birth to her oldest daughter, Tammica. After receiving an Honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, Janice and her family moved back to Cleveland where she gave birth to her baby girl Jtanoa.
Janice fell in love with Jesus at an early age, she loved reading her bible, going to church, and singing songs of worship to the Lord our God. She always included a bible verse in every birthday gift/card she bought. Janice loved watching football games with her brothers Larry, Joe, and Denise and going dancing with sisters Annette and Evelyn whom now she joins in heaven. Janice had many hobbies like baking, fishing, drawing, and traveling. In 2022, Janice spent a week in Jamaica, a place that she dreamed about visiting since she was a young girl. She treasured spending time with her four grandsons, Tre’leon whom she nicknamed “Teenie”, J’Mere whom she also nicknamed “Grasshopper”, J’Veon, and Rylin.
In closing Janice kept a smile on her face, she was full of love, life and laughter, an explorer by nature, and was always looking for her next big adventure! Janice leaves behind her ex-husband, two daughters (son-n-law), four grandsons, one sister, three brothers, and a host of family and friends. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from suffering.” Mark 5:34 – NIV
