Jeannette attended Hough Elementary, Wade Park Middle School, and Central High School. She was the eldest sister of seven children. She had three brothers and three sisters and a God bother; Gregory Ferrell, Allen Knox (Terry Knox), Melinda Lindsay, Brenda Phillips, John Phillips (Damita Phillips), Charles Grayson and Pamela Phillips-Craig (David Craig). She enjoyed doing pranks on her siblings and family members. Jeanette was the wild card out of the bunch for sure.
Growing up She had a reputation about having the prettiest little bowlegs! You knew it was Jeanette just by the way she walked. On December 30, 1970, she was introduced to motherhood birthing her only son Fredrick “Fella” Bolden at the age of sixteen. She also has one daughter Nyoka Shaw-Williams. While working as a lunch aid at Tremont elementary she met her true love, Ronnie Henderson. The two united in marriage in 1980.
She became mature, nurturing, genuine, down to earth and she always told it like it was no matter who she was around. She was the matriarch of the family by supporting her people selflessly. She was known for her good cooking and doing the running man at parties. She worked for Cedarwood nursing home for many years. She enjoyed her job because she loved taking care of others.
Jeanette was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (C.O.P.D) in the late year of 2017.
After battling with stage four C.O.P.D she was called home to be with the lord on March 13, 2022.
She preceded in death by her mother Virginia Lee Greer, Her brother Gregory Ferrell, and her nephew Craig Gary AKA her Pocko. Jeanette leaves loving memories to her son Fredrick Bolden, her daughter Nyoka Shaw-Williams, son n law L.A Williams, her niece whom she raised Nyree Watkins and her grandchildren, Cedric Bolden, Malik, Mercedes, Nunu AKA her Nyla, Summer Shaw, and Mason Harvey. She also leaves behind her life long-time friend Shari Lanier and Pookie. She is survived by loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
