Jeffery “Buffy” Hunter, 70, earned his Heavenly wings on January 13, 2025. Born on February 1, 1964, to the union of Henry M. and Daisy J. Hunter, Jeff attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School in 1972. In 1985, he married his soulmate, Deanne Andrus, and together they were blessed with 10 children. After retiring from Advanced Auto Parts, Jeff devoted his time to the things he loved most – serving the Lord and playing pool.
A faithful member of The House of Prayer For All People Church, under the leadership of Pastor R. Stacey Jenkins, Jeff served as an ordained chaplain and deacon until his health began to decline. Jeff’s legacy of faith, love, and service will be cherished by all who knew him.
Jeff is now reunited with his wife, DeAnn Hunter, his father and mother, Henry and Diasy Hunter, brothers, Henry J. Hunter Jr., Lawrence Hunter, Terry hunter and Gregory Hunter; sisters, Barbara Hunter, Vera Moon; sister-in-law, Alice Hunter; and great-grandson, James Stark.
Jeff is survived by his loving devoted children, Bernard Norris, Ministers Allahvel (Sylveen) Andrus, Tiffini (Jerold) Newton of Indiana, Antoine Finney, Dontae Finney of Newy York City, Jeff (Christine) Hunter, LaNetta Hunter, DeShawn (Julie) Hunter, Frank Taylor, Eric Taylor, 42 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters; sisters, Gladys (Ivery) Washington and Shelly Slaughter; brothers, Willie Hunter, Phillip Hunter, Hilary (Jennifer) Hunter, Tyrone (Emeldor) Hunter; sisters-in-law, Judy Hunter, Vernia Williams of Morehead NC, Krissandra (Troy) Brown of Charleston SC, Charlene (Antoine) Simpson and Lynez Andrus of NYC, Carl Andrus and Jamal Midgyette of Akron.
