With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jermaine David Russell, who departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on November 16, 1973, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jermaine was the beloved son of Linda Charmaine Robinson and David Russell (Carolyn).
From an early age, Jermaine formed deep and lasting friendships. His first lifelong friend, Danene Pope, fondly recalled meeting Jermaine in kindergarten and how he would always bring snacks to share, winning her heart as her “chubby friend with the dimples.” Their friendship endured through Westdropp Middle School and Jane Addams High School, where Jermaine later met his best friend, Alfred “Al” Godbott. Al became not only a brother and cousin in spirit but also a devoted caregiver in Jermaine’s later years.
Jermaine leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his father, David (Carolyn) Russell; siblings Alisia, Michael, Sherry (Thomas Pipkin), Robin, and Robert; beloved aunts Windy (Melvin Brown), Becky, Laura, and Joyce; his uncle Nook; as well as 11 nieces, 5 nephews and a host of family and friends.
Jermaine was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. He will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
