Jerry I. Moore, 76, transitioned on December 21, 2020. He was born on March 29, 1944, to Richard and Beulah Moore in Middletown, Ohio.
After attending Middletown High School, Jerry proudly went on to serve as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps earning a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Rifle Marksmanship Badge. He received an honorable discharge for his military duties.
Jerry was an excellent auto body technician and welder for most of his life learning the craftsmanship from his late father Richard Moore. He was employed at VanDevere Collision Center and previously at Burt Greenwald in Akron for over 25 years.
The number of years and hours are unknown that Jerry worked and pitched quarters at Danny Moore’s Body shop on N. Main St. The time shared at the family shop was priceless, truly what he enjoyed.
The days were filled with long hours, challenges, determination, jokes, laughs, and you know, more laughs with Danny Sr., Danny Jr., Tony, Arthur (Fidget), Frenchy, and the regulars who visited just to hang out.
Satisfaction was always guaranteed on every vehicle or truck Jerry repaired. His custom paint jobs sparkled in every color imaginable. Besides work, Jerry’s hobbies were work, a true definition of a workaholic. However, he cherished spending time with his sons, bowling, and trying to beat you on a video game.
