Jimmy Northern was born on March 8, 1941 in Jackson, TN to the late Wardell Northern and Mary Lee Hulsey Northern. He made his transition from time to eternity on July 13, 2024.
Jimmy attended school in the Jackson, TN Public School System and graduated from Merry High School in 1960. While in high school, he was a standout player in basketball and an unforgettable Drum Major of the Marching Band at Merry High. After graduating from high school, he received a basketball scholarship to Lane College in Jackson, TN. He was well known for his basketball skills throughout the NAIA Division. Jimmy was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
He was a devout golfer during his time in high school and college. He started as a caddie at the Country Club in Jackson. As time progressed, he became quite outstanding in golf and moved to Cleveland, Ohio with his family. Jimmy was employed and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was also on the golf circuit traveling from state to state.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving companion, Wynora Hudson of Cleveland, OH; two brothers, Barry Northern and Ted Northern; niece, Lisa Tynes-Kunzo; Long time friend, Ludia Eison of Indianapolis, IN; and other relatives and friends.
