John James Strickland was born November 9, 1985, in Akron, Ohio to the union of the late John Strickland Senior and LaRay. He was educated in the Akron public school system. John graduated from Akron Central Howard high school where he loved to play basketball. He played basketball at Central-Hower High School as well as Ed Davis Community Center. John took pride and everything that he did. After graduating, he started his adult journey of employment at advanced plastics in Akron, Ohio. He always paid attention to detail in every aspect of his job. He later moved on in his career to work at local 894 in Akron, Ohio. He spent many years there doing various jobs. John loved children; you could find him engaging with the young ones in the family at the many family events that took place. John was very family oriented. He loved and doted over his mother and new father, LaRay and Dereck Richerson, as well as his two brothers that he claimed the boss man’s job over both of them. John was a true grandma‘s boy affectionately calling her granny and he attended church alongside her for many years. Being baptized meant everything to him. He was baptized and accepted Christ in his life as a young boy, at Stone Deliverance Evangelical Temple in Akron, Ohio under the leadership of the late Pastor Mary L. Stone. He met and was engaged to his fiancé, Ashli Johnson, and his new intended daughter to be Aubrey, they plan to become a union however God had other plans.
