Jonathan attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from East High School in 1998. He obtained his Associates Degree from Herzing/Akron University. Jonathan was employed at GOJO Industries, Inc for 5 years, where he excelled in many positions. He also received awards and accolades for his hard work, leadership, and dedication.
Jonathan believed in the Lord and regularly spent time praying, reading daily devotionals, and the Bible. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Jonathan had a passion for dogs, cars, and motorcycles. He was a pool champion and coached his son youth football teams.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Walters; step-mom, Laticia Franklin; grandmothers, Virgina Louis Franklin and Rosa Mae Walters-Davis; grandfather, Berwin Davis, Sr.; aunts, Rebecca Walters-Mitchell, Lynette Davis; uncle, Eric Franklin; nephew, Marques Junius.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his loving memory forever his father, Jonathan Franklin Sr.; sons, Jonathan Franklin, III, adopted son, Jerell Sanders; daughter, ZaNayah; sisters, Erica Walters, Cheryl (Angel) Franklin; brother, Jaques Junius and Jaz Smith; aunts, Deidra (Ron) Franklin Massey, Cynthia, Mary, Vernell Walters; uncles, Wendell, Geffrey (Delores) Franklin, Fred, Emmitt, Jerry (Debbie) Walters, Berwin Davis, Jr.; special cousins, Sonja, Sweets, Chrissy, Marlin and a host of family and friends.
