Juanita Jeanette McCalebb was born on October 3, 1943, to Fannie Mae and Leroy Black, Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. Both parents, one sister (Patricia Ann Black), and two brothers (Leroy Black, Jr. & Luther Tyrone Black), preceded her in death. Viola Black, Johnnie Black, Dale Black, and Diane Black Halvorsen are surviving siblings. Also preceding her death was her son Isom G.C. (Bill) Weems.
Juanita was employed for many years as a school bus driver for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Cleveland Municipal School District. She retired after 31 years of service to adults and many children in Cleveland, Ohio. Juanita loved her church, Pastor, and the congregation of Good Shepherd Ministries. She loved the Lord and was a faithful and devoted member. She loved participating in Bible studies, prayer meetings, and services at her church.
Juanita loved entertaining family in her home, there were many good times of laughter and delicious home-cooked meals. The family was an integral part of her life. She loved and cherished them. Juanita had a wonderful sense of humor that will be remembered as one of her beautiful attributes that her family and friends will miss. Her surviving family members left behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are the following: Her daughters, Denise Wallace (James), Karen Smith, and Jeanette Ezell (Dwayne). The proud grandmother of Tiffany L. Smith, Tameisha M. Black, Isom G. C. Weems, Jr., Tiera L. Smith, Sean A. Black (preceded her in death), Ishia F. Weems, Tamara J. Smith, Douglas A. Smith, Jr., Charity Thatcher, Faith C. Ezell, and Hope A. Ezell. She was also a proud great-grandmother of Tremaine Smith, Jaeden D. Woodard, and Jaela M. Sanders, and a host of family members and friends.
