Judy El’Tigre Fann Bolden was born on April 22, 1957 to Freddie Mae Wilder and Tiger Fann in Cleveland, Ohio.
Judy attended Harry Davis where she met her best friend, Jackie Gregory. She also went to John Hat High School where she met her husband, Larry Bolden.
Judy tried to take her brother to church at an early age, but the church advised that they needed their parents. Still seeking God in her 20’s, a pastor advised Judy that she wasn’t good enough to be baptized (church folks).
Judy was one of the top bar maids in Cleveland in the 80’s. She dressed to impress. Judy went to her doctor’s appointments in a suit.
Judy moved on Page Avenue and True Love Baptist Church was right across the street from her apartment building. The pastor looked just like her father, and she would sometime help him clean. She started going to church and was on fire! Pastor Booker noticed her fire and paid for her to go to Marathon Bible College where Judy made all A’s and B’s, receiving her associate degree to teach.
Judy also owned a restaurant on 79th Carnegie where she sold a variety of cobblers. She had a big heart and a love for children. She started a bible club with a family of 9. They, including their parents, were all baptized.
Judy was the truth and didn’t take “no stuff”. She didn’t play about her daughter, and everyone knew it from the streets to the church. She also didn’t play about anyone she loved. If you were hungry, she would feed you. If you were thirsty, she would give you something cold to drink. If you needed clothes, she clothed you. She had one of the biggest hearts and loved to make people smile.
Judy stood by her daughter Lenae’s side as she married her long-time love Chris on June 24, 2024. You could not tell her that she wasn’t also getting married too, but she knew she could take flight to be with the Lord leaving her only child in good protective, capable hands. Judy would say in her sick days that Jesus would tell His father that they weren’t ready for her to talk them to death. On August 8, 2024 at approximately 7:00 am they invited her spirit home to be with them. Jesus couldn’t stall her out any longer.
Judy leaves behind to mourn her only child Lenae (Chris), sister Irene (Pete), resting sisters Stephanie, Hilda (Rick) and Eurnestine. Brothers: Al (Nita) and Damon (Cherly) resting Reginald, James and Ernie, a host of nieces and nephews, and her two favorite cousins Mary and Rosyland. Judy also leaves behind two long-time loves.
