After graduating from East High School, she spent 2 years working in Summit County Courts as a stenographer in Probation, then was recruited to become a Federal Probation/Parole secretary, where she remained for 8 years until transferring to the Clerk’s Office. Most of Judi’s 38 1/2 years in Federal Court were spent providing assistance to Judge Sam Bell as a Docket Clerk, and then both Judge David Dowd and Judge Paul Matia as a Court Room Deputy.

Judi was married for 26 years to Richard Reese Sr., and was blessed with three beautiful children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Elbert, older brother James Richmond, and her grandson Johnny Reese. Left to cherish her memory are children Richard Jr., John (Ann-Elisabeth), and Meredith, sister Arra Robinson, five grandchildren, Kelly Self, Juliann Reese, Savannah Reese, and Harlan Reese, as well as two great-grandchildren, Levi Hague and Elijah Harvey.

Julia accepted the Lord at an early age, and was faithful in attending North Hill Church of Christ, until illness prevented her from doing so.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cleveland Clinic Hospice for the wonderful care provided.

Memorial Services will be held at Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home on Friday March 7th located at 529 West Thornton Street Akron OH 44307 from 4:30pm to 6pm as well as separately on Saturday March 8th at North Hill Church of Christ located at 897 Columbia Ave Akron OH 44310 from 12:30pm to 3:30 pm

I graduated with Judy in 1965. She was always friendly, gracious with a caring heart. We worked on class reunions together and had so much fun reminiscing about our "Oriental" days at East. Sadly she joins over 125 classmates. She will be fondly remembered at our 60-yr class functions in June. RIP

Judi was a dedicated and professional public servant and cherished member of our courthouse family. She was one of the first people I met at the court and I will always remember how she greeted me and my family with warmth and kindness. She will always hold a special place in my heart. May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in peace.

To the family of Sis Judi, my thoughts and prayers for you all during this most difficult time! Sis Judi was a beautiful lady who I always admired! She always greeted me with a smile whenever I saw her at worship service! May the lord bless and keep you! ~Sis Marci Eskridge and family!!

I will always remember Sis. Richmond for being so pretty and so nice. She always gave me positive energy since I was a child that knew her from church. Missing my mother with an intensity I cannot find the words to describe...

My sincere condolences to Judy's family. I worked with her for a about a year and a half when I worked for Judge Matia; she was a very classy lady and a top notch Courtroom Deputy.

I am so sad to hear about aunt judys passing. I have nothing but wonderful memories of her. I can still see her and arra always laughing and joking around as sisters do.
