Julia Calhoun, beloved daughter of Julius Calhoun and Mae Henderson, was born on February 6, 1940 in New York City, New York. She passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 85. Julia is survived by her loving son Eric L Calhoun Sr, her two cherished grandchildren Eric L Gay Jr and Alexandria Julia Gay, as well ass her loving great grandson Eric L Gay Jr, her loving cousin Brenda Arnold, and to her loyal friend Shirley Andrews and Alvine Coleman.
Julia was a dedicated scholar during her academic career in High School before embarking on a successful career as a machine operator at Ford Motors for 20 plus years. She later went on to serve as a crossing guard at Shaker Heights City School District, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many children for almost 12 years. Julia was an active member of various community organizations, always offering a helping hand wherever she could.
Outside of her professional life, Julia had a passion for cooking. She was delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends, creating delicious dishes that brought people together. Her culinary skills were admired by all who had the pleasure of tasting her creations. Skills she later passed on to her granddaughter who is now a chef.
Julia will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones and community. She will be deeply missed by all!!
