Katherine C. Johnson (Waller, Jackson) is now in service for her Lord and Savior as of September 20, 2022. Glory, glory, glory!
Katherine was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from East High School. She worked at Akron City Hospital for three years and retired from St. Thomas Hospital after 37 years of service. She was a faithful member of The House of the Lord (THOTL) for approximately 40 years. At THOTL, she loved to work on weekends doing maintenance and serving as an usher where she utilized her love, compassion, and sense of humor to support and uplift others. She loved listening to the Word of God, the company of others, reading, going to the theatre, traveling, and talking.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Jackson; sister, Jacqueline Jackson; and husband of 30 years, Oscar Johnson.
Left here to celebrate her new job are her daughters, Rhonda Waller, Yolonda Bruyere, and Celeste (Nathan) Waller-Trimble; stepchildren, Pamela (Sydney) Davis, Sheila (Arthur) Torrey, Sharon Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Stanley Johnson; grandchildren, Olivia, and Ian; beloved cousins, Renee Watters, Jacqueline, and Tony. She also leaves 20 step-grandchildren; 29 step-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of relatives, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ to celebrate her life and continue her blessings.
