Keith Donald Thomas Sr. passed away Tuesday May 21, 2024 at the age of 59. He was surrounded by his loving family, who will forever cherish his memory and the impact he made on their lives.
Keith was born on December 27, 1964, to MaryAnn Cooper and Cecil Thomas. He attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from North High School, class of 1983. Keith worked at Quick Arena and was dedicated to coaching pee-wee and high school football for over 30 years. He had a passion for cooking and baking and was a die-hard Raiders fan.
Keith married his childhood sweetheart, Shoiven Thomas, on August 24, 1996. Together they raised three children: Tiesha Thomas, Donte Bryant, Keith (Tanesha) Thomas Jr.
As a grandfather, Keith found immense joy in his grandchildren, Isaiah, Mariah and Ty’Vayah. His grandchildren were a source of great pride and happiness. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that they will carry with them forever.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Thomas; grandmother, Emma Singleton; mother-in-law, Dorothy Kelly; father-in-law, Fletcher Kelly; nephew, Rayshun Davis; god-daughter, Janine; brother, Walter Dayse, and step-dad, David Cooper.
Keith leaves behind to cherish many memories his siblings, Kenny Thomas, William Dayse, Stacey Dayse, Rich Dayse, Walter Dayse, Nicole Dayse, and Tracey Thomas. Keith had a special bond and unconditional love for his in-laws, Ruth Kelly, Steve (Jennifer) Kelly, Jerome Kelly, and Carol. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including Jamar, Yak, Lil Kenny (Candice), Gino (Kasondra), Dante and De’Andre. Keith was blessed with a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
