Kenneth Christopher Pettus Sr. was gifted to Robert and Doreatha Pettus in Cleveland, Ohio on February 28, 1965. The youngest of six siblings, [Kenny] cherished his role in the family and remained close throughout his journey in earthly life. Antioch Baptist Church would become pivotal in Kenny accepting Christ at an early age. Graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in 1983, he excelled as a skilled and multi-faceted athlete in basketball, football, and track-and-field. His talents as an athlete would lead him to trying out for the Sacramento Kings as a non-collegiate candidate garnering him the nickname ‘Eagle,’ as an ode to his speed and agility. In addition to his passion for sports, Kenny was an avid bowler who enjoyed competing in the Cleveland area. He also engaged friends and family for years as a winning card and dominoes player.
Kenneth enlisted in the United States Air Force, devoting seven years of honorable service to our Nation as Special Police from 1984 to 1992. His service in the military would allow him to acquire skills and grow on the Air Force base(s) of Mather in Sacramento, CA and Hickam in Oahu, HI, becoming a qualified asset as a long-term professional with Nestle/Stouffers in Solon, OH. Kenneth’s affinity for helping others would lead to a transition into healthcare, impacting many lives as a home health aide in the latter.
