Kevin Lee James

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin L. James, a beloved father, brother, and partner, who departed this life on 07/02/2025 at the age of 64.

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Kevin was a man of quiet strength and enduring love, known for his kind heart, sharp wit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures-especially when gathered around a pool table, throwing darts with friends, or mastering a game of Pac-Man. Whether he was making someone laugh or lining up the perfect shot, Kevin brought warmth and a competitive spirit to every room he entered.

Kevin is survived by his daughters Julie James and Anita James-Brown, his son Kevin James, and his long-time partner Margaret Shockley, who stood by his side with love and care through life’s many chapters. He also leaves behind his brother Terry James, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ethel and Peter James, his cherished sister Anita Johnson, and his dear brothers Frank, Jesse, and Curtis James. Though their absence was deeply felt, Kevin carried their memories with him always.

Kevin’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His warmth, loyalty, and sense of humor will never be forgotten. His memory is a blessing and his life, an inspiration.
