Kitty Mae Wilson was born on October 6, 1934 in Holly Springs, Mississippi to the union of Cooper and Betty Wilkins who preceded her in death.
She was educated in the public school system of Morely Missouri and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. Throughout her life she would sing gospel songs that were near and dear to heart which reflected on the love and relationship she had with Jesus. At the age of 17 she married John Nolan who was in the military. They lived in various states including Cleveland, Ohio, where they settled and raised 4 children. Eventually Kitty and John parted ways and in 1991 Kitty married Willie Wilson and they were married until his untimely death.
Throughout her life, Kitty worked as a housekeeper and she worked in retail and the food industry which led her to a job in the Dietary Department at University Hospitals of Cleveland where she retired with over 20 years of service. After retirement she worked at Home Instead for a few years as a caregiver. Kitty loved to entertain family and friends. She hosted cookouts, Scrabble and card parties. Kitty also loved to bowl and she participated in a bowling league. Kitty was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed attending baseball games and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kitty loved to travel with her late husband Willie Wilson.
Kitty was generous to a fault and she was always available to give a helping hand with a smile. She loved music and in her early years she loved to dance. Kitty was known for her delicious cakes, pies and peach cobblers and people would request to buy them. She also loved baking cookies during the holiday season to give to family and friends. Kitty was known for her witty sayings, e.g., “I am too old of a cat to be fooled by a kitten.” Kitty was a firm but not strict mom who loved her children dearly and always wanted the best for them.
Kitty had four children and her oldest child, John Nolan, preceded her in death. She had four brothers who preceded her in death, Lynn Wilkins, John Grady Wilkins, Robert Wilkins, and George Wilkins. She leaves to mourn one brother, Cline Wilkins of Sikeston, Missouri, three children, Gwendolyn Nolan, Kimberly Longino (Reginald deceased), James Nolan (Althea) all of Cleveland, Ohio, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She also leaves to mourn Dwight Edmond (Lynn) who she loved like a son.
