Landon Joseph Rogers was one of a kind. Anyone who knew Landon knows that there was no one like him. To know him was an honor, privilege, and a gift.
Landon was born on October 18, 1997. At an early age, it was evident that Landon was special, and as he grew older, he continued to be distinctive. A true extrovert, Landon was very social and loved to have fun. He enjoyed being around friends and family. If there was an event or gathering, you could count on Landon to show his face. Even by mentioning a trip to Cedar Point, you could guarantee he would be there. Landon was all about enjoying life and having a good time. We all know that he also valued fashion. It was common for Landon to have a pair of Jordans delivered to his mom’s house and then ask for gas money while picking up the package. That was “Lando.”
Landon was not shy about showing his emotions: If he was mad, you knew it, and he would tell you all about it. If he was happy, it was contagious energy. He could make you laugh even when you didn’t want to. If he loved you, you knew it. Landon was always true to his feelings. He loved hard and was genuine. He wouldn’t hesitate to say what was on his mind.
Most importantly, Landon was a child of God. He was not ashamed to mention God in conversation with anyone. He always tried to find understanding and the positive in any situation. He was always trying to, “level up.” His favorite scripture was:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Landon’s life was suddenly and tragically ended in a heartbreaking way. However, let us not forget the joy, happiness, and love that he has given to us all.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Albert and Renee Colvard; and his beautiful sister, Kierra Rogers.
Landon leaves to mourn his parents, Wilbert and Dianna McDaniel, Crystal Rogers, and Jeffrey Bullitt; his siblings, Kiana Rogers, Keisha Taylor (Adrian), Lauren Hakim (Hassan), Alana Talley, Masai McDaniel, and Jessika Bullitt; godmothers, Gloria Showers, Lillie Hope, and Bridgette Harrill; as well as an entire community of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless close friends. Landon truly touched the lives of many and will forever be missed by his loved ones.
