Lashawn Carter was born on March 22, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio to Mr. Solomon Foy Sr. and Ms. Cottie Mae Carter.
Lashawn, affectionately known as Mookie or Mook “D”, attended the Cleveland public school system ultimately obtaining his GED. Mookie was employed by Burger King for 22 years. He went from crew member to manager during this time. He was also a member of Spirit Revival Center.
Mookie loved his family and friends. He always greeted everyone with a big hug and a wet kiss on the cheek. Mookie was never ashamed to tell you he loved you, as a matter of fact he told you LOUD and clear every time he saw you. Mookie loved hanging out with his family and friends. You never knew when Mook “D” would be on the scene.
Although he struggled with medical issues, never did he complain. When he woke up to go to work sometimes he’d drive, sometimes he got a ride, and other times he would catch the bus. Mook was going to punch that clock no matter how he got there. He was a very determined man who faced adversity with a smile on his face. Mook never give up mentality.
Mookie departed the earthly life on November 19, 2022, a month after losing his beloved mother. His legacy lives on. He will forever have a place in our hearts. We will cherish our memories and time spent with Mook here on earth and in our hearts.
Lashawn “Mookie” Carter leaves to cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy, his loving wife, Sharon Carter.
