Leonard Wilson began his earthly journey as the second son born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Calvin and Mary Wilson on March 20, 1933. He was lovingly known as Len, Lennie or Biggs to family and friends.
Len attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Central High School. In his early years, he was baptized and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Len’s faith in God has always been a driving force in his life.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably for two years. While serving, Len spent time overseas in Japan.
Upon completing his two years of service, Len traveled back to the states and married his sweetheart Barbara Benson on July 28, 1956. To this union, they were blessed with four children, three sons and a daughter.
Len and Barbara moved to Maple Heights. They lived there for over 30 years, raising their family and teaching them to always do their best in school and in life. Later, they moved to the quiet city of Twinsburg where they lived for over 20+ years.
Len was employed with the State of Ohio, working for the Department of Agriculture. He was also a licensed realtor. Len enjoyed selling houses to people and was always willing to help them find their dream homes.
Len and Barbara joined Real Gospel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of their son, Pastor T.L. Wilson, where he regularly attended until he became ill.
Len loved watching sports, going fishing, barbequing, smoking meat on the grill and making his famous rice. Len truly loved God and his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren.
Len was blessed with 91 years of life. He transitioned to his home in glory on January 11, 2025.
