One day in Farmerville, Louisiana on June 20, 1946, a beautiful baby girl name Lillian Mae Roberts was born to Mattie Mae and “The Great” Charley Sidney Roberts. Lillian was the youngest of three children, and really adored her older brothers Jake Holley and Charles Roberts.
Lillian and her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she confess to Christ at a young age. She attended East High where she received her high school diploma. In 1966, she met Joe Grady and to this union Darren L. Grady was born. She moved on with her life and met her lifetime companion Louis Rose, to whom she married and to this union they had a baby boy, Michael D. Rose.
Lillian started out at the US Postal Service as a clerk and was also furthering her education in Cuyahoga Community College in business management. Her career took her to different places, and she had to move to Akron because she was promoted to manager of the business center bulk mail unit of Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Mansfield and Toledo, Ohio. She made sure her coworkers were properly trained and was very thorough. Due to her job, she traveled to almost every state. She finally retired in 2002 from the US Postal Service and relocated back to Cleveland, Ohio with her lifetime partner Louis Rose.
To know Lillian Rose, you would know she was a loving person who didn’t play any games. She enjoys participating in bowling tournaments, traveling, listening to her books, a cold Diet Coke, visiting her family in Louisville, Kentucky and most importantly her three grandchildren Tavisha Wynn, Jaquis Rose, and Tanajae Rose who were the joy of her life. Lillian loved life and the smiles she put on her grandchildren’s faces. Lillian fought through her illness and finally became tired on December 3, 2022, where she peacefully passed on.
