Linda Diana Ray-Denson of Cleveland, Ohio was born on January 20th, 1950 to William and Diane Ray (both deceased.)
Linda grew up in the Glenville area, attending Miles Standish Elementary School, Empire Junior High, and St. Peter’s Catholic High School. After high school, she went on to receive a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Cleveland State University in 1973. During her educational path Linda went on to receive two masters degrees, one from Kent State University and Grand Canyon University. Her greatest accomplishment was completing her Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling at Liberty University. Though she was inactive, Linda was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Linda found Christ at an early age when she was baptized at Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church. During her spiritual journey Linda found her spiritual home at New Life Gospel Center where was ordained as a Deaconess. Linda served in various ministries at NLGC including the food pantry, usher ministry and as a greeter.
Linda’s work history shows her love and compassion for others, she was employed as a drug counselor for several years as well as spending over twenty years as a mental health counselor for the Ohio Board of Vocational Rehabilitation. She then went on to be the director of Ala-Ritz Kiddie College for several years. She also was a proud Mary Kay consultant for numerous years.
Linda loved reading, sewing, and listening to her gospel music. One thing Linda loved to do was to have family gatherings on the holidays, she opened her door to those who wanted to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Diane Ray. Two younger sisters: Romaine (Johnson) and Cynthia (Travis.)
She is survived by her husband Roosevelt “Chuck” Denson and her son Erick D. Walker, her sister Marquita (Crawford) and Briggitte. Linda is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
