Linda Diane (Ely) Young entered eternal rest on September 6, 2024. Linda was born on August 29, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Chester F. Ely and Jettie (Pace) Ely. She was a resident of Cleveland, Ohio since 1969, where she met and married her beloved husband Fred Young. Their union brought about an adoring son, Michael Dion Young. Linda was a member of the Olivet Institute Baptist Church in Cleveland.

Linda was a graduate of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama where she received her associate degree as a nurse. She continued her studies and earned her bachelor’s degree as a Registered from Case Western Reserve. A very dedicated Cardiac critical care nurse, who worked for University Hospital for 44 years, until her retirement in 2014.

Linda is survived by her two devoted brothers-in-law, Willie Young and Lonnie Young, a sister-in-law Annie Young all of Cleveland, Ohio. She is also survived by ten siblings, her devoted sister Marion Perkins, and loving sisters, Charlita Keeton, Gelzie Harris of Dayton, Ohio, Helena (Michael) Dyson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Alicia (John) Foster of Huber Heights, Ohio, and five loving brothers, Chester L. Ely, Harold (Arlene) Ely, Michael Ely of Dayton Ohio, Gregory (Valerie) Ely of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Eric (Regina) Ely of Corvallis, Oregon. A host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
