Lottie White’s sunrise was May 26, 1956.
She was the 2nd youngest of a family of 7 siblings of Willie Mae James and Herman White. She also had an amazing stepfather Sam Middlebrooks who later married her mother and helped raise their combined families together.
She was educated in the Cleveland public school district. Where she was always in accelerated programs and did amazing academically. She went on and continued her education for many years. Later becoming an accountant for Republic Steel and a Medical secretary for Cleveland Clinic. She also worked for a time helping the needs of the neighborhood at CEOGC programs. In 1999 Lottie finished her education and became a special needs teacher for the Cleveland Public Board of Education.
Lottie later spent the rest of her career and life teaching, advocating, and fighting for the rights of disabled children. She made time no matter what to make them feel seen and gave them a save space at school to be loved and respected. She would even go as far as buying shoes, coats, and different personal items that they may have needed that parents couldn’t provide. In addition she would even pack extra lunches so that she could make sure some of the most underprivileged children could have food for home. She was genuinely one of the most loving kind hearted people that this world was given and her energy light and love will be missed forever.
Lottie White enjoyed dancing, singing, shopping, traveling and mostly being around her son and grandchildren. Her smile could light up a room. Even the light bulbs would be jealous when she walked in. She was just that vibrant. She loved westerns and cooking and that would be one of her favorite pass times after retiring from the Cleveland Board of Education after over 30 years of dedication.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Elijah Reeder his fiancé Tiffany, her grandchildren Allbree and Alaiyah. Her sisters Rose, Arlene, Laura. Lottie was preceded in death by her mother Willie Mae Middlebrooks, stepfather Sam Middlebrooks, father Herman White, brothers Herman White Jr., and Willie White will all be meeting her at the gates of heaven.
