Lynn Renee Watson was born in Detroit, Michigan to her father, James P. Diggs and mother and Lovie Diggs. She bravely made her entrance to glory on May 16, 2025, at the Anes Hospice House after fighting cancer.
Lynn grew up in Inkster, Michigan and spent many days working at the Diggs Family Funeral Home. Later after having her only child, Terry, she became employed at General Motors starting in Michigan and moving to Cleveland to the Euclid plant and later going to the Parma plant. Parma was not ready for Ms. Howard!
In 1990, she made her entrance at General Motors Parma, and everyone knew that she was a sharp dresser, most caring person, hard worker, best party friend, and she was just a total people person. Lynn gave to any charity; she adopted children homes for Christmas and took a week vacation to make sure every child in the home received every toy they asked for, boots, hats and gloves.
Her second biggest project was raising money for family’s who loved ones had passed and they were not able to pay for the funeral. If she had not asked you for money for one of these fundraisers, she would see you as she raised money for Breast Cancer. After her sister, Tina, passed away she became a Pace Setter for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer every year. While at the same time, being one of the best Machine Repair trades people in the plant.
Lynn joined the Order of Eastern Star in February 2010. Walking the mazy labyrinth of life and taking an oath that bound her to the Sisterhood as a member of Lydia Chapter 8. She later became the Associate Matron of Ruth Chapter 6 and held the position of Grand Marshal of Morning Star Grand Chapter, OES.
Lynn was one that truly emulated the Heroines we study at the five points of the Star. Her dedication to the Order was unmatched. She continued to serve in any capacity she could that provided aid to the community. If there was community service, we could count on Lynn showing up and giving her all. Even if she wasn’t feeling her best.
Lynn took it upon herself to be an example to her Sisters and advocate for the less fortunate. She began working hand in hand with Loretta’s Helping Hands, providing assistance with food and clothing drives, coats and toy giveaways.
One of her proudest moments was the day she was crowned a Royal Lady, one of the highest achievements one could accomplish as an Eastern Star in our jurisdiction.
Lynn is truly a woman, “Fairest Amongst Thousands Altogether Lovely”!
While she was traveling with the Eastern Star she met the Love of her life, and married Lamont Watson. Once they met, life changed for Lynn, she started traveling, cruising, and started putting herself first.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Lamont Watson, son Terry Howard, Mother Lovie Diggs, Brother Jimmy Diggs, and a host of family.
