Please accept my deepest condolences to the Miah family. I have such warm memories of Cubby from when I lived on South Blvd — he was always so kind and genuine. May those same memories bring you comfort, and may you find peace and strength in the days ahead.

I remember Cubby as a child when my family lived on Parkgate Avenue in the 60’s. He visited our home frequently with my younger brother, Dennis Banks. My deepest sympathy to the entire Miah family.

My deepest sympathy. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I too remember Cubby walking around looking out for the youth and always singing and sometimes a few dance steps. We will miss your kindness and love...

My sincere condolences to the Miah Family for the loss of Cubby❤️ I’ve known Cubby since I was a little girl growing up on East 98th street. He was truly my bonus big brother! He ALWAYS looked out for the younger kids in the neighborhood. He was our Friend, Big Brother and Protector. For all of that I will forever be grateful 🥲. I remember him as a teenager walking thru the neighborhood singing Earth, Wind and Fires’ 🔥 “Reasons”. That was his “Signature “ Tune !!! Thank You Cubby for sharing the gift of You with all of us younger kids in the 44108❤️🙏🏽❤️ Much Love & Respect “Little Mikki Hardwick “

For over 50 years I’ve had the pleasure of calling Cubby my friend. We met in 7th grade and finished at John Hay High School. He was the best friend anyone could ask for, and the best listener any person could have. The last few years were not the best for him, and many times he wanted to give up , but because of his love for his family and friends, he fell on his faith. It was an honor to spend some time with him over the last few months. But I’m gonna miss him. Sandra, Melodie, Ebony and the twins, I’m a ring away. Much love!

My deepest condolences to the Miah family for the loss of Cubby. The loss of my childhood friend saddens me. However, my heart feels grateful because we were able to reunite, thanks to Arthur, our childhood friend. Cubby, Arthur, Vernon, and I had a great day together, reminiscing about our childhood adventures on one of my recent visits home. We even had the opportunity to spend time with his brother, Michael, at their childhood home in our old neighborhood. I thank God that we all came together so many years later, and I will cherish it forever. I pray for peace, comfort, and healing for you all during this difficult time. Cubby, my brother; Rest in Power! Your friend, Ricky
