Marsha Primes, a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, departed this life on November 3, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on July 12, 1965, in Akron to the late Henry and Charlie Mae Primes, Marsha grew up in the city she loved, attending Central Hower High School and graduating with the class of 1983.
Marsha spent her career serving the community, working for the city of Akron in parks and recreation, along with various retail positions. She was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church in Akron. Her true joys were traveling—especially to visit her daughter and grandchildren—cooking, listening to the blues, and cherishing time with her family. Marsha was known as “Queen on the hill”.
She was preceded in death by her son, Marcus Primes; her brothers, Michael Primes and Christopher Primes; and her beloved parents, Henry and Charlie Mae Primes.
Marsha leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Sharmekia Primes; her adored grandchildren, Kyla, Marcus, and Savannah; her sister, Sharlene Ward; her brother, Kelly Primes (Jennifer); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Marsha’s presence will be dearly missed, but her laughter, friendship, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her life will be celebrated and remembered always.
