Mrs. Mary Calhoun Baker was born on August 29, 1947, to Mrs. Katie Mae Garrett Calhoun and Mr. Chancer Calhoun, Sr.
On September 4, 2022, she went home to be with the Lord while a patient at Menorah Park in Beachwood, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. King Edward Baker, her parents, Mrs. Katie Mae Garrett Calhoun and Mr. Chancer Calhoun, Sr.; sisters Mrs. Afruth McMillian (Michael) and Ms. Edith Calhoun; and brother Mr. Perry Calhoun (Wilbertine).
Cherishing her loving memories are her two sons, Mr. Kevin Calhoun, and Mr. Eric L. Baker; one granddaughter, Bella Baker and her mother Ms. Natasha Hammond; four sisters Ms. Willie Calhoun; Mrs. Cora Elston (James); Mrs. Olivia Willis (Calvin); and Mrs. Jacqueline Garner (Walter); and three brothers Mr. Chancer Calhoun, Jr.; Mr. Robert Calhoun (Barbara); and Mr. Charles Calhoun (Ruth), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mary was a strong advocate for education and held the United Negro College Fund in high esteem. Her family asks that – if you are so moved – you make a donation to this fund in her memory.
