On December 24, 2020, Mary Hill (Henderson) was taken to sit on the right side of Jesus our Lord and Savior. She was born December 27, 1932, to Samuel Hill and Leatha Scott.
She met Jesse Henderson, Sr. while he was in the service in Virginia and they moved to Akron, OH in 1952. To this union 3 children were born, Jesse Henderson, Jr., Deborah Henderson-Bennett, and Cynthia Henderson-Linder.
She started working at the Veterans Administration. This experience inspired her to open her own group home for veterans. As a result, the veterans became family members for over 30 years. She was truly loved and respected in the community by all she encountered. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Timothy Hill.
She leaves to cherish her memory son, Jesse (Debora) Henderson, Jr; daughters, Deborah Henderson-Bennett and Cynthia Henderson-Linder; 4 grandchildren, Jamaica (Jamie) Heil, Shamier Lockhart, Adonis (Keona) Henderson, and Byron (Neicey) Beasley; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Anita, Margie, and Betty and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
