Mary Elizabeth Evans was born on July 22, 1948 in Cleveland OH, to the late, George Freeman and Wilburetta Binns. She was called to be with the Lord in the early hours, on March 3, 2021. Mary was affectionately known as “Grandest” by her grandchildren and family. She would always say “I’m the Grandest of them all” to her grandchildren.
Mary leaves to carry on her legacy: husband, Moses; daughter, Desiree Mitchell (Ernest); sons, Jade Evans and Moses Marshall (Shayna); daughter, Sharm Starks (Warren); brother, Milton Freeman (Deceased); brothers, William (Billy) Freeman (Deceased), Lawrence (Larry) Freeman (Liz), George Freeman (Janet); sisters, Barbara Hunt-Nash (Bill), Leslie Harney-Smith and Ella Nappier (Pierre) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other close friends and loves ones.

My sincerest condolences to the family. Mary and I went to school together and met up at UH where my husband had received an LVAD while her husband was contemplating his. We were so glad to reunite again even in those circumstances. We held on to each other during our trial with our partners. I will remember her always for what we shared during that difficult period in our lives. So sorry to hear she is no longer with us.
