Mary Garman (Bowers) born on March 28, 1942, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2021, at Barberton Citizens Hospital at 79 years of age. Mary loved to shop and enjoyed being around family and friends.
Mary was born in Barberton, OH, and lived in the Akron community most of her life, until residing with her loving and caring daughter and generous son-in-law Owen. She was a proud member of United Baptist Church, where she loved to attend the 11:00 a.m. service.
Mary worked at Valley View Nursing Home for many years, until she resigned to take care of and raise Cyndi Bowers. She LOVED children and was a Foster Grandparent at Calico Head Start for a few years, where she assisted daycare workers.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and Clarence Garman; Loving partner Nathaniel Bowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Cyndi (Owen) Martin (Barberton, OH); grandson, Tyler (Barberton, OH); sisters, Kathleen Garman (Palisades Park, NJ), Francis Koehler (Steve) (Jonesboro, GA), Nina (Earl) Roberts (Clinton, OH); goddaughter, Nichole Richardson; very special nieces, LaShonne Evans, LaMiracle Evans, Roslyn Richardson, Darlene Washington, and Lisa Mcalister; very special friends, Phyllis (Paul) Williams and Krista White; special friends, Mary Pitts, Toni Thorne, Davita Smith; special neighbor, Vicki Jarboe; special sons, Gerald and Larry Bowers; special daughter, Angie May; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
