On Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 7:00 am, Mary Martin, a long time resident of Akron, Ohio, passed away at Timberland Ridge Nursing Home.

She was a loving mother, sister and aunt, who cared about everyone she met.  She always tried her best to make people feel welcome, never perfect, but when you came in contact with her, you knew it.  She was a woman of character and a “straight shooter.”  She was the kind of sister, mother and aunt you wanted to be around.  She truly will be missed.

Mary was preceded in death by birth mother, Ruby Austin; father, Samuel Stallings; daughter, Carla Denise Martin; sisters, Karen  Murray and Sheba Martin; brothers, George Martin and Tommy England; aunt, Penny Martin; adoptive mothers, Naomi Blake and Bessie England.

She is survived by daughters, Angela (Robert) Fletcher of North  Carolina, Nakia Martin of Akron and adopted daughter, Aretha Hammond; son, Shawn (Renee) Martin of Akron; sisters, Mary    Martin, Deborah Williams, Sandra and Barbara England, all of Akron; grandsons, Stephen (Tiffany) Fletcher of Columbus, OH and Shawn (Brittney) Martin of Columbus, OH; granddaughters, Natia (Kebbins) Pollard of Clarksville, TN, Dacia Rogers, Cashmier Martin, Adreya, Niya, and Unique, all of  Akron, OH; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; special nieces, Zelda McCloude, Cherlonda Green and LaToya Martin of  Akron, OH; and a large number of other family members and friends.
