MATTIE BELL BREWER
Mattie was born to the proud parents of Centa and Eugene Brewer on October 24, 1940, in Millers Valley, Alabama.
Mattie confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harris. She attended elementary school in Millers Ferry Alabama, later moved to Selma, where she graduated from R. B. Hudson School.
Mattie enjoyed life to the fullest, she loved playing cards and listening to music. She often carried a portable radio around with her.
Mattie was a devoted daughter, grandmother and aunt. Her greatest moments were spending time with children.
Wednesday, May 6, 2015, Mattie realized the house she lived in was finally beyond repair. She was tired, weak and weary. She petitioned God and He came and carried her home.
She leaves to mourn her Home going her son: Reginald Brewer, her grandchildren; Arianna Patillar, Maurice Lewis, Regina Minniefield; and six Great-grandchildren, five sister Doris Davidson (Cleveland, OH), Georgia and Nancy Smiley (Selma, AL), Olivia Quarles (Michael) (Montgomery, AL) and Fannie McGill (Chicago, IL). Eight brothers; James Brewer (Prattville, Al), Walter Brewer, Steve Williams and LeVan (Cleveland, OH), Marvin Smiley (Angela) and Leonard Smiley (Selma, AL), Rodriques Lewis (Miranda) (York, AL) and Michael Sharp (Beverly) Pensacola, FL).
Loved ones that preceded her in death both parents; Eugene and Centa, two sisters; Ollie and Dorothy and one brother; Eugene Brewer Jr.
