It is with a heavy heart but also a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived, that we celebrate the life of Michael Carlos Mobley, who passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on June 25, 2025. Born on March 7, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, Michael was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose warmth and commitment to family and community have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Michael’s journey began in the loving embrace of the Mason family, where he grew up alongside his three older brothers. His life was enriched with the joyful chaos of being the big brother to siblings Paris Paul, Lorraine Lorella, Darius, John Davis IV, and Pamela Crenshaw, roles he joyfully embraced.
After 45 years of dedicated service at United Parcel Service, where he was known for his steadfast work ethic and reliability, Michael retired, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication and perseverance that inspired his colleagues and friends alike.
In his free time, Michael found joy in the game of golf, the artistry of restoring classic cars, and the intricate process of grinding and welding coffee beans. He cherished family travels and was known for his keen fashion sense, always seeking the perfect fit in his favorite golf designer shirts.
A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Michael fostered deep bonds with his brothers, including Archie Hollins, Paul Rhodes, Melvin Pierce “Tookie,” and Sylvester Reed “Sly.” His commitment to brotherhood extended to cherished gatherings with his wife, Annierose, and friends in the “UPS Brunch Club,” where they enjoyed baking bread and creating lasting memories.
Michael took immense pride in his three sons—Shawn, Markus, and his daughter Zuri, as well as Miles Moore. The joy of his marriage to Annierose not only brought love into his life but also two bonus daughters, Delana Cokley and Geana S. Lewis, along with their families. He adored his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa Mike,” and these new additions brought him profound happiness.
Michael’s legacy will continue to be reflected in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who were touched by his kindness, guidance, and spirited laughter. He will be deeply missed yet remembered with love and admiration.
