We were blessed to meet Michael last spring. He wasn't quite sure what to think of our little family, but circumstances and COVID brought us together. He was such a blessing. He was smart and witty, but also a little goofy and not afraid to make fun of himself. He opened our eyes to things we didn't know before and we pray that we opened his as well. He loved to run, throw a football, and we even got him to kick a soccer ball a few times. He introduced us to music he loved, and we introduced him to music he didn't quite think as highly of! ? But most of all, he LOVED to be outside. Walks, runs, hikes, just whatever got him outside. We are just heartbroken to hear he has been taken from this earth so soon. He was so young and had so much to learn (like 1 or 2 sprays of AXE body spray are ENOUGH young man! We promise ?) and do! He had planned to run track and maybe play football. He was so fast, we thought both would be great ideas. We now pray for his family. Ca'Meshia and Reggie, we are so sorry for your loss. We live in a broken world and moments like this are a painful reminder. We are praying for peace and comfort, knowing neither can come apart from trusting in God. He knows firsthand what it is like to lose a son, so He is one that can sympathize with what you are feeling right now. He loved Michael and He loves you. I had the honor of having Michael in Math class at Bondurant Middle School during part of his 7th grade year. He was so full of energy. Even though he would tell me Math was not his favorite or strongest subject, he tried his best. I still have emails from him asking me if he had completed enough practice minutes of the Math program we were using at the time. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.

He genuinely made me smile or laugh every day. Even though he wasn’t my student for long, his unique and energetic personality will always stay with me and his classmates. We read the book “The Outsiders” and he loved participating in the discussions. He admitted he didn’t love to read, but worked hard with this book anyway and continued to work hard even when we went virtual. I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

One day I saw him doing a pull up in the lobby on the door casing and so we had to go find the pull up bar in the gym. He was always proud of how many he could do.!
