Mont’e Lee Farmer peacefully departed this life on July 4, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to Michael L. Farmer and Denise Jones in Cleveland, OH on December 10, 2005.
Michael was granted custody of Mont’e at 36 months and cared for him at home up until his passing. Michael attempted to involve Mont’e in numerous activities, but Mont’e was a homebody and took pride in never wanting to leave the house. Michael provided excellent care for his son and never missed a beat in being his father from beginning to end.
Mont’e was a junior at Brush High School and loved spending time with his friends and family. He absolutely loved and adored his little sister Alexandra and was extremely protective of her, and he also enjoyed cracking jokes with his brothers and sisters. Mont’e loved playing Fortnight and took the chance to play professionally which resulted in him winning a $200 prize. He often kept the entire household awake while yelling at the video game in the middle of the night. Mont’e was previously employed at the Splash Pad in the summer and was adamant about saving money to care for his little sister. He always spoke of getting his real estate license and opening his own company in order to buy a house for his mother and sister.
Mont’e had a very special bond with his stepbrother A’Mar Steel and even though they were not biological brothers, they were inseparable from the first time they met at the age of one. A’Mar was right by Monte’s side up until the end. Mont’e also had a very close relationship with his cousin Stephen Olinger and wanted to express his appreciation for him being there during his illness.
Over the last three years Mont’e developed a strong and loving relationship with Andramurah (Candice) Eberhardt, who was like a mother to him, and he would talk to her about many things where he needed a woman’s opinion, which often times offered a different point of view than his dad’s. He consistently expressed his love and appreciation to her for being there, making sure he was comfortable and for being right by his side during the entire time.
Mont’e also developed a close friendship with Minister Vyrone Finney who made multiple trips from Akron over the last year to see about Mont’e. When his health began to take a drastic turn and he had questions about where he’d spend eternity he reached out to Pastor Vyrone, which Mont’e affectionately called him, who gave him guidance, which resulted in Mont’e requesting on his own to be baptized in order to have a seat at the right hand of God. On Sunday, June 11th, Monte’ was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Akron, OH by his beloved Pastor Vyrone.
Mont’e is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Sylvester Keith Butler; uncle Londo Farmer; and aunts Robin (Maria) Bates and LaTashia Stephens.
He leaves behind a lifetime of precious memories to his father, Michael L. Farmer, mother Denise Jones and stepmother Felicia Henderson; grandfather Mark Sharp; grandmothers Brenda Farmer Butler (Maple Heights, OH), Wendy Carter and Josephine Jones; brothers Michael (Amanda) Farmer, (Cleveland, OH); Darnell Farmer and Aundray Farmer (Cleveland, OH) and A’Mar Steel (South Euclid, OH); sisters Kaniesha Rivers, Monaie Farmer and Alexandra Durham all of (Cleveland, OH); uncles Richard Peter Farmer (Philadelphia, PA), Randy (Eileen) Williams (Warrensville Heights, OH); aunts Michelle Farmer (Solon, OH), Lisa (Terry) Grant (Allenhurst, GA), Margaret Sharp (Cleveland, OH); best friend Evan Jackson and a host of others, including cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
