Norma Mills was born on August 11, 1937, in Martinsville, VA. She was the oldest of 11 children of the late Richard and Vera Mills.
Norma attended John Hay High School and after high school she was a secretary at B.F. Goodrich Chemical.
She married Aaron J Stovall Sr. on July 25, 1957. The couple welcomed their first born, LaDonna, July 7, 1956, and soon after welcomed a son, Aaron J Stovall II, January 11, 1958.
Norma was a Protestant, and she genuinely loved and enjoyed her life. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Being the matriarch of the family, she gave all her family members wisdom. Norma was a mother and mentor to all her family members and played a vital role in everyone’s life. In her free time, she enjoyed family gatherings and socializing with family and friends.
On March 7, 2023, Norma departed this life at home in Pensacola, Florida, with her daughter and son by her side. Norma’s parents, Richard and Vera Mills; and her siblings, Homer Davis, Richard Mills, Connell Mills, Thelma Phillips, and Gladystine Bey; proceeded in her death.
Norma leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, LaDonna; son, Aaron II; siblings, Francis Hairston, Annie Summers, Shirley Deane, Carl Mills, Carlton Mills, Donnell Mills, Juanita Jackson, and Mildred Jackson; grandson, Aaron III (wife, Jessica); granddaughter, Ebony; 5 great-grandchildren, Arieanna, Aaliyah, Leithton, Avery, and Jaxon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family-in-law, other family members and friends.
