Norman Eugene Lewis was a caring husband, father, grandfather and most recent a new great grandfather. He left this world suddenly of natural causes on July 24, 2024 at age 94.
He was born to Alice Linnie Greer and Curry Stewart on June 23, 1930 in his hometown of Milford, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, Norman chased his dreams to serve in the United States Military. During his dedication given to the Armed Forces he built a lengthy career between two branches, serving in the Air Force as a paratrooper and then moving on to the Army where he progressively advanced. During his tour of the Korean War, he received Medals of Honors which includes being a recipient of the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart.
In 1956 Norman met the love of his life Celestine Marjorie Lewis and married her August 24, 1957. Together they had one child, Yvonne and were married 65 years until Celestine was called to God December 9, 2022. Norman had a phenomenal career in the service, and retired after serving 24 years. He later landed a job working as a Supervision Manager for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) where he established another lengthy career retiring in 1994. Norman’s hobbies were building wood shop, fixing things around the house and watching cowboy westerns.
Norman is preceded in death by his loving wife Celestine, parents Alice Greer and Curry Stewart, son-in-law Steven Terrell Wilson, in-laws Louise and J.D. Howard, Emma and Henry Freeman, Barbara Jean and Jim Hubbard, Charles Thomas Jr., Lonnie Marks and nieces Lonnette Marks, Linda Hubbard & Marlene Hubbard.
Norman leaves to mourn his beloved daughter Yvonne Lewis-Wilson, grand-daughter Zia Lynn Wilson, new great grand-daughter Zaye’yonni Marie Wilson, sister Barbara Ann Marks and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
