O’David Sherman was born on May 23, 1945, in Barberton, OH to Anna Jackson. He was lovingly raised by his mother Anna (Sherman) Jackson and Charles Jackson. O’David, which means nothing, can get in and nothing can get out (family togetherness), was a very smart and intelligent man. He worked for Babcock and Wilcox as a Lab Technician.
He first met Darlene in 1975, and they were married in 1985. Darlene and David enjoyed the simple things that life had to offer. Though they didn’t have any children together, O’David raised Darlene’s children Norman Wheeler, Carla Wheeler and Sonya Edwards (Joseph) as his own.
O’David was a prayer warrior, he loved his church family of Mt. Zion church in Kennesaw, GA where he remained until he moved to Las Vegas, NV with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He and Darlene enjoyed spending time traveling all over the United States, enjoying their children, grandchildren Jasmine, Paulina, and Florence; great-grandchildren Ktai and Deviar Doxsey. He truly enjoyed teaching them different aspects of life, a few things being rock climbing and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his mother Anna (Sherman) Jackson, stepfather Charles Jackson; sister Joanne Sherman, mother-in-law, Gladys Jones, father-in-law, Allen McNair and daughter Carla L. Wheeler; brother Jeremiah Frost; sister Joanne Sherman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Darlene B. Sherman, children Norman (Veronica) Wheeler of Henderson, NC, and Sonya (Joseph) Edwards of Las Vegas, NV;granddaughters, Syreeta (Jimmy), Jasmine Wheeler, Paulina Awuah, Florence Awuah of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren Ktai and Deviar Doxsey; brothers-in-law, Ronald Jones and Edgar McNair; brother Stanford Henderson of Lithonia, GA, Mr. and Mrs. Gloria Everhardt; sister, Dorcas Carr, Marva Jones of Akron, OH, and a host of relatives and friends.
