Orchid Naomi Brown, 87 of Akron, Ohio, peacefully fell asleep in death on January 28, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Orchid was born to the late William Hayes Anderson and Elizabeth (Nichols) Anderson on August 16, 1933, in Barberton Ohio. She was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, where she worked diligently to provide for her family. She was employed as an operator with AT&T, after 22 years of service she retired as a supervisor.
Her greatest accomplishment was raising her 10 children and leaving a legacy of 6 generations, instilling in them the value of education and hard work.
She will always be remembered for her love of fashion, travel, elephant collection, and her compassionate effort to help others, even taking in those in need. She worked tirelessly to keep her children and grandchildren together, for that we will forever be grateful. She was dearly loved and cared for by her children. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Brown; parents, William, and Elizabeth Anderson; brothers, William Hayes Nichols, and Marvin Anderson; son, Curtis Williams; daughter, Brenda Williams and great-grandson, Tehjon Brown.
Orchid is survived by her 10 children, Romenza (Walter) Thomas, Sharon Yarborough, Andrea Renee Williams, Cheryl Williams, Edwin Williams, Marvina Williams, Dierdre Williams, Marvin Williams, Robin (Robert) Fields, Thea Brown, 3 step-children, Gaynell Hunt, Sandra Brown, Ava (Phillip) Miller; 25 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. She lived to have 6 generations. She is also survived by her only sister Bernadine (Henry) Helms and a host of family and friends.
