Perlette Patricia Watkins was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 11, 1943, to Claude and Doris Williams. She attended Collinwood High School and furthered her education at Cuyahoga Community College.
Throughout her career, Perlette held various positions, with notable tenures at Mt. Sinai Hospital (5 years in the Dietary Department), University Hospital (5 years in Dietary and 7 years in the Sewing Department), and Bank of America (7 years in clerical work) before retiring due to health reasons.
On October 27, 1962, Perlette married the love of her life, William Arthur Watkins. Their union was blessed with three children: William A. Watkins Jr., Victor Watkins, and Vincent Watkins.
Affectionately known as “Pat,” she had a deep passion for music, sewing, dancing, traveling, attending garage sales, gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Perlette was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, William A. Watkins, as well as her parents, Claude and Doris Williams, and her brother, Claude Willie Williams Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons: William A. Watkins Jr. (Niambi), Victor Watkins (Angela), and Vincent Watkins; her siblings: sisters Judy Davis and Doris Cobbs, and brothers John Williams (Gail) and Philip Williams.
Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren: Nikisha Seals (Tommy), Anthony Kimbrough Sr. (Valencia), Ronell Thompson, William “Butter” Johnson, Brian White, William Watkins III, Kiara Weatherspoon (Sean), Valisha Watkins, Allonda Watkins, Erin Driskill, and James “Zach” Price, and her eight great-grandchildren: Kennedy Weatherspoon, Sean “Deuce” Weatherspoon, Saint Victor Weatherspoon, Shiloh Nick Weatherspoon, Denver Lee Watkins, Tyler Seals, Anthony Kimbrough Jr., and Alexandria Kimbrough.
She is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Special acknowledgments go to her cherished friends: [The Wild Bunch, The Crew].
Her warmth, love, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.
