Rachel Darlene Burris born March 27, 1956, entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2017.

Rachel was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.  She enjoyed cooking and was known for her great lasagna, which you had to beg her to make, that was her stubborn side. Rachel was employed as a home health aide and a STNA for years. Rachel raised 3 children of her own and 3 others that she treated as her own.  She will be truly missed by many.

Rachel is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy V. Burris Mayfield; grandmother, Harriet Brown; great grandmother, Lovara Miller; great aunt, Frances Wilkerson and cousin, Michael Burris.

Rachel leaves to cherish in her memory sons, Terrence L. Burris, Torrey A. Burris, Cortez Clinton; daughters, Peggy D. Burris, Shyla Green; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Felicia (Davis) Nicholson, Frances (Rodney) Burris, Shirley (Tonya) Johnson, Elizabeth (Freddie) Walker; brothers, Howard ( Denis) Burris, Derek (Linda) Johnson, Timmothy Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
