Ralph McFarland Payne, age 81, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. Born on April 3, 1944, Ralph dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his work, leaving behind a legacy of strength, service, and love.

A proud veteran, Ralph served his country honorably in the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he worked in various careers, including the post office, TRW, and RTA, before finding his true calling at Cleveland Public Power. As a power dispatcher, Ralph dedicated many years to ensuring the reliable flow of electricity to his community, retiring with pride and fulfillment.

Ralph was a loving husband to Rhonda and a devoted father to his five children: April Payne, Ralph Payne Jr., James Payne, Angel Payne, and David Payne. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ariana and Avantea from April, Ashley from Ralph Jr., Alan from Angel, and Khaleesi and David Jr. from David. He adored his grandchildren and took pride in watching them grow and succeed.

He will be remembered for his resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Ralph’s legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.
