Born December 30, 1960, in Pensacola, Florida. Ray Anthony Cheese graced this earth by way of Voncile Trawick and Willie Cheese. Ray accepted Christ at an early age and relocated to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 9.
Ray graduated from East High School, then enlisted in the Navy. After serving his country, he returned home and where he began his career in law enforcement. He served as security, a police officer, and a detective for over 35 years before retiring.
Ray married Gloria Coleman on July 29, 1987. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Ra’Shawnda and Ra’Quel. He was a great role model, husband, and father. He was their leader, protector, and provider. He had a special bond with each of them.
Ray was such a caring and giving soul. He would have you laughing and smiling and could talk to anyone about anything. He was so well known, that he was bound to run into someone he knew even if he was on vacation.
Ray was a fierce servant of God and had a major devotion to church. When he wasn’t serving the Lord, his free time was spent traveling, playing cards and dominos, eating (he loved a good meal, especially seafood), and ordering multiples of anything from Amazon. Most of all he preferred spending time with his family. Especially his grandkids: Rylee, Alani, Tremayne Jr, and Savannah.
Proceeding him in death is his father, Willie Cheese; mother, Voncile Hill; brother, Willie Trawick; and grandmother, Mattie Lou Harrison. Ray leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his wife Gloria Cheese; daughters Ra’Shawnda (Tremayne Sr.) and Ra’Quel; grandkids, Rylee, Alani, Tremayne Jr, and Savannah; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
