Robert Curtiss Walker, affectionately known as “Rob” or “Bobby”, was born July 1, 1971, to Lynette Forney at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. Just before Robert’s second birthday, she met and married Ronald Lee Walker, a Vietnam veteran, who lovingly raised Robert as his own son.
Robert had an amazing childhood, growing up in the Noble-Nela neighborhood of Cleveland Heights where he befriended many lifelong friends. Although he did not play any organized sports, Robert was very athletic, enjoying playing neighborhood football, basketball, track and field, weightlifting and bike riding. He was also enrolled in guitar lessons and other activities at the East Cleveland Community Theater. Robert attended East Cleveland City Schools (Rozelle, Caledonia, Kirk and Shaw), graduating from Shaw High School in 1989.
He met and married Leesa McGhee and from that union came 3 children of a total of 8. He loved his immediate and extended family and would do anything for them.
Robert was a skilled barber, keen mechanic, and later in life, took classes and became quite knowledgeable in the legal field. Having never met a stranger, Robert was an outgoing, friendly, fun-loving, caring man- always willing to help others. He loved music and appreciated a good meal.
Robert leaves to mourn his mother- Lynette Walker; father – Ronald Walker; biologic parent – Robert Ware; sister Lisa Husain (nee Walker); children- Crystal Moore, Shon Walker (Calvinia), Eric Walker, Aja Rogers Thompkins, Krishanna Walker, Chanel Walker, Wesley Walker and DeBron Walker; niece Sumayyah Husain; nephews- Azhar Husain, Kadar Husain and Ameer Husain; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
