Roosevelt Oliver Jr was Born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 1st, 1942. He was welcomed in heaven on February 27th, 2022, by his mother and father Florence & Roosevelt Oliver Sr and his two sisters Brussie Mae Whitmore and Myrtle Randels. He is survived by his wife Rosie M Oliver and his children Florence Oliver, Pamala Oliver, Roosevelt Oliver III, grandchildren Chaz, Lamerrill, Raven, Deonca, Davion, Melanie (heavenly angel), Alicia, Maya, and Monica, 12 beautiful great grandchildren, and a host of close family and friends.
Roosevelt Jr accepted Christ at an early age under Pentecostal faith. He graduated from Thomas Edison high school. Roosevelt met Rosie who he nicknamed Rosita at church in 1963 and knew immediately that she was his soulmate. He didn’t waste any time and married her on October 17th, 1964. “Proverbs 18:22 – He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” They celebrated 57 anniversaries, over 21 thousand good mornings & good nights, and countless I love yous. The love they share is truly timeless. He loved singing and often serenaded his Rosita with love songs from Johnny Taylor and The Temptations. Roosevelt Jr was a heartthrob as a member of his group “Inflames” with his smooth baritone voice and his big beautiful brown eyes.
Roosevelt Jr worked at Chrysler for 32 years and retired as a Die Setter. After retirement he enjoyed spending quality time with his friends & family. He was a BBQ Legend notorious for throwing down on the grill, then whooping you in a game of spades! He enjoyed going to the casino with his Rosita, talks and visits from his childhood friend Maryann Harris, the thrill of playing video games, and the peace and serenity of aquariums. Roosevelt affectionately known as Granddad lived a full Blessed life, filled with Laughter & Love. He is deeply missed but he will live in our hearts & memories forever.
